School Reviews

"Ngl, the teachers are all very biased and they get angry at you for no reason. The toilets are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo dirty and smelly and there are wet tissues on the ceiling. The year heads are honestly the worst ones I've ever seen, he/she literally knows that we have been sitting in the hard floor of the hall for a very long time already and our legs are all very sore but for some reason he/she just refuses to give the teachers the cue to take us back to class because we were apparently 'too noisy' and i'm not complaining that i have to wait for our turn to stand up and go back to class but what i'm complaining about is that he/she make that waiting time even longer. Our recess are all supposed to be 30 minutes everyday, but every single day, not a single day in my life in that school, we had a full 30 minute recess. The teachers expect us to finish our food and gather at the hall 10 minutes before recess ends and if report 5 minutes before recess ends its also okay but they think that if you do so, you are an irresponsible student. If your teacher ever so happens to release you late for recess(happens very often) they would most likely only let you go to the canteen around 5 minutes late which means that you only have 15 more minutes to eat. The queues for these food stalls are also long as hell and you have to wait for at max 10 minutes for the snack stall. I think the teachers in charge can definitely gather all of the students within 5 minutes and there is no need to gather us 10 minutes before recess ends, plus all they do when you gather at the hall at the 'right' time, all you do is just read books and no talking or else you will stand up, the same goes if you did not bring a storybook or a book to read."

"I used to be in school and you can take my word for it or not but some of the teachers here are hella brutal, to LITERALLY KIDS. I can’t tell you how much this one teacher (I’m not gonna name but it’s a Chinese teacher) traumatized me. She literally called my mom over the smallest things and my mom hates it and gets very mad when teacher call. She calls my mom so many times throughout the year and I seriously suffered so much because of it and mind you i was only 10, and getting scolded often because this teacher just have to call my mom for me not bringing things or not doing the work she was not even clear about. I still got ptsd till this day whenever my mom picks up a call and I know it may not seem that serious but it ruined me. Another PE teacher that I hate sm, she dislikes me for no reason and always scold me when I want to sit out due to discomfort, one time scream at me loudly in front of the whole class for sitting out due to cramps, I can’t tell you how much that does to a child with shyness and social anxiety. Also got this one teacher, I think called Mr alman (I think he already left the sch but I’m not sure??) was my P4 math or science teacher I can’t remember but he was so damn strict and if the student do anything wrong he’ll scold like sooooo loud, I swear being in his class is like playing squid game, any wrong move and he’ll explode or something. We can’t do anything other than listen to his class and I think making his students scared is his motto or something I’ve never seen anyone call him their fav teacher before Teachers in this school also can’t teach, and does not check up on students that are falling behind and are trying their best, they will only focus on the good students and it’s annoying, I only ever respected my P6 math teacher for trying her best to help me, and to my form teacher in P5 - P6, Mr Razif, thank you so much for helping me come out of my shell and actually teach, you are the coolest teacher I’ve ever met in my life Graduating class ‘22"

"As a P6 student there, I feel that the teachers there are quite biased towards the boys and my class would get scolded for no reason during social studies lessons as the teacher was annoyed by her P5 class and she was also targeting some of my classmates and would scream their name in a mad tone when returning the workbooks even though their work was properly done and in P5, I also encountered a social studies teacher that is unreasonable and would start to yap when she enters the classroom and after she is done yapping, she would be scolding our class because half of the lesson was gone because of her yapping. Secondly, the toilet is dirty and there is a group of girls in the toilet using their phones (P4-P6)and when the other student goes into the the toilet, the girls will be kicking and slamming on the cubicle door to threaten the other student who saw them using their phones as I experienced it TWICE in a month. But there are still good teachers in Rivervale like Mrs Poh and Ms Tang. For parents who want to send their kids to a school in Sengkang east area, I would recommend compassvale primary as I feel that maybe Compassvale primary would have a better environment and better teaching resources for students."

"To be fair, my teachers were not that biased and homework was not that bad and for me, the students are nice but I think they should do like s carnival for children's day. In p4, the carnival was amazing! Other than some teachers who want to rip you apart, it's a ok school. But don't expect good toilet facilities in the old block [I like to call it as the main block] but still happy to graduate this year"

"i graduated here 2 years ago. to all the alumnus im sure we all had a good time. rivervale pri used to be a fun learning environment. however looking at the reviews now, i guessed rivervale kinda changed with the current principal. Although there are many bad reviews, i must say that not all teachers are bad. this school taught me to be disciplined ( i dont know about now ) but this is essential. i dont get why skibidi toilet kids cant seem to understand and complain about little things. just literally do the bear minimum. there must be a way of why a teacher is acting a certain way. stop spoiling ur kids, sometimes, traditional teaching is necessary."
